Our philosophy

As coaches, it is our responsibility to be positive role models and leaders who help to develop hard-working young people with integrity.  By demonstrating fairness, honesty, positivity, and compassion, we can create a culture where students are self-motivated to give 100% to their team.  It is our job to communicate schedules, organize practices and teach skills in a way that our teams are able to reach their full potential and be confident competitors in any given season. Through our sport, we are able to model and teach how to set goals and measure achievements. Consistent discipline and successful competition provide an avenue to teach time management, responsibility, respect, teamwork, loyalty, true confidence, accountability, commitment and resilience.  These are life-long skills that will make a difference in the lives of our athletes. We will teach the athletes to be accountable for their successes and mistakes; to understand and accept natural consequences and to practice self-advocacy, diplomacy and compromise and to above all appreciate their gifts of athleticism and the privilege of competing on an SCHS team.
